FULL ITINERARY KUALA LUMPUR TO BANDUNG & JAKARTA (DAY 1/PART 1)

Hello everyone.

This is going to be my first post ever and I'm sharing with you guys full itinerary of travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Bandung and Jakarta.

First of all, the expense during travelling exclude the preliminary bookings (flights, hotels, travel insurance, passport & etc). Also, this is a couple traveler journey and we backpacked! Mind you, I'm not a food hunter, so most of the spendings went to attraction tickets and places. Pricing currency depends on country I purchased. Let's get goin'!

Day 1

We booked the earliest ticket we could find so that we could settle down early and start touring for the rest of the day.  As of January 2024, Kertajati Majalengka airport (KJT) was still newly operated. Upon our arrival, only KUL flight landed in the airport. We felt really welcomed by the staffs greeting us and all the attention were given to only us. My usual practice after touchdown was to 'visit' the airport restroom. It was very spacey and clean. I will always recall the Javanese music in background, the quiet calm atmosphere and a slight unfamiliar dialect of airport announcements.

Then, we queued to the immigration counter. The officer would ask to provide passport AND proof of return ticket to origin. A man from another counter was questioned as he did not have the return ticket. But still, he passed the immigration. So, to future traveler it's best for you to buy two-way flight tickets in advance.

For your info, you have to take shuttle bus or van to Bandung city from the airport. After the immigration process, we walked to the shuttle counter and surrounded by bus/van operators competing their services. I felt like a celebrity for once! We landed our eyes on an operator who just sat in the counter and purchased shuttle van tickets with reasonable price than the others. It was his win among the others, I believe.

only 5 passengers :D

  • AIRASIA KUL - KJT RM 142 (no luggage add on)
  • Shuttle van to Bandung City -  Rp 100k

After almost 2 hours, we then reached Bandung city. I requested at the counter to be dropped off to Pasar Baru, however, the driver might not get the notice and dropped us off at Gasibu something. Funny story about the journey was... we didn't subscribe for any data roaming because we planned on getting a simcard upon arrival. No simcard was sold at the airport and we had to roam around to find convenience stores. Stomach was grumbling, so we had lunch first before resuming our 'challenging' journey. It was a classic ayam penyet, which I can also get in Malaysia. I told my Indonesian friend about my first meal in Indonesia and she giggled at me. Again, not a food hunter.

  • Ayam Geprek Pangeran - Rp 21k
One of the schools in Bandung was a shooting location for Dilan movie. I was kinda getting the vibe while walking along the school area

We then continued our journey of finding a simcard. We walked and walked until we decided we needed a break and get wifi nearby to book e-hailing to hotel. We booked using Gojek (luckily installed earlier) to Little MyKonos. To my surprise, there was a shop in front of the hotel selling simcards. We had a little chat with the seller and she told me about the simcard. We found out that IMEI number must be registered in immigration to use local simcards/number. This was very new and a lesson is learned. So we proceeded with Celcom Data Roaming. It was way easier, if I had known and the internet speed is very good.

We stepped in to the ancient Greek themed hotel, it was so nice and comfortable.

  • Gojek (GoCar) Nexa Hotel - Little Mykonos Rp 22k
  • Little Mykonos - RM 113 (one night)

At night, we took Gojek to Braga Walk for dinner and a stroll. It reminded me of Jalan Tar, KL. There were buskers, viral shops and classic buildings. We had dinner at Waroeng Ayam Penyet Bu Tris, it was full house with customers and various kinds of food. We just took a set meal and of course drank Teh Botol. After dinner, we went to Braga Citywalk Mall for a while and went back to hotel for good night sleep.

  • Gojek (GoCar) Little Mykonos - Braga Walk - Rp 14k
  • Waroeng Ayam Penyet Bu Tris - Rp 60k
  • Grabcar Braga Citywalk - Little Mykonos - Rp 11k
